what is the best external hard drive for a mac. i have a 13.5 aluminum macbook and i want to buy an external hard drive for it but dont know which to get.

i have a hp personal media drive
its 500 gb
which was the size i wanted at the time (i want like 2 tb now haha)
but yeah it was like 130$ but i think it was on sale
so just search around they all work with time machine after they have been formated

how much will you use it. i just got one on sale for 99 dollars and its a 1Tb WD which is way to much for me. Your best bet is to go to the store and ask someone what the best one for you is . My guess is you need around a 250gb but it depends on how much space you want and need.
