How to back up files on Western Digital My Book External Hard Drive Essential Edition 640GB?
Hi there, We recently bought a Western Digital My Book External Hard Drive 640GB. We want to back up our Desktop computer and laptop. It seemed all we needed to do was plug it in and install Memo or something like that and it would back up all our files. We tried this afternoon, but nothing seems to be happening. I then looked at the user manual and this was no help. Could someone please tell me how to back these up. Surely there must be a simply way to do it. Has anyone got any ideas? Any help would be most appreciated.

someone i know had that same problem (hours of waiting. . . and nothing happening/transferring) on a 500gig external by WD (my book)
what worked was just copying and pasting the folders into 1 file. . . (ctrl + click to select the heading folders you want. . . )
– it’ll probably help if you compress the files into a . zip or something
