This item was just what I needed to use to install my hard drive for classes. It also arrived at early. I have told everyone that I know to check this item out .

1) The enclosure only works on HDD with 4500 – 7200RPM speed (many Travelstar HDDs are 4200RPM which won’t work)
2) USB cable problem (light stay on but cannot detect the HDD, have used my other USB cable instead to make it work)
3) HDD fit loosely inside the enclosure

The 40Gb IBM TravelStar Hard Drive that comes with an IBM ThinkPad A20p will not fit in the encosure! Funny that the labeling on the enclosure says “For IBM TravelStar”.
If you just want to access the hard drive, you can still hook it up to your PC outside the enclose, but if you plan to carry the hard drive around, then this works plug and play via USB, no driver needed.
While the price is attractive, I suggest that you look for a better (slightly larger) enclosure that would fit your 2. 5″ HDD.
I gave it one star, despite it working exactly as I want it, but I also plan to carry my hard drive around so that’s everything. For a product of this sort, it is either one star or five stars.
